Nearly four years after Amy Winehouse died from alcohol poisoning at age 27, the documentary of her life is now slated for release July 3 in the U.K. (with reports swirling of a U.S. summer release as well).
A teaser for the doc, titled simply “Amy” and directed by Asif Kapadia and distributed by A-24 Films, was released today.
In the emotionally charged trailer, an off-camera voice asks the singer about fame.
“I’m not trying to be a star or anything other than a musician. … I don’t think I’m going to be at all famous. I don’t think I could handle it. I probably would go mad.”
