A man was shot and critically wounded Monday morning in the Uptown neighborhood on the North Side.

The 22-year-old was standing outside in the 900 block of West Buena about 10:20 a.m. when two males walked up and fired shots, according to Chicago Police. The gunmen ran off after the shooting.

The victim was shot in the chest and was taken in critical condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, police said.

Police said he is a documented gang member and a convicted felon; and the shooting is thought to be gang-related.
