A man was left in critical condition Monday night after he was shot in the West Ridge neighborhood on the North Side.

The 18-year-old was found about 8:25 p.m. with a gunshot wound to the back in the 6400 block of North Maplewood, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Presence Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston in critical condition, police said.

A police source said the man is a documented gang member.
