A 16-year-old boy was killed and another teenager was injured in a shooting Friday morning in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the West Side.

Eddy Brooks and a 17-year-old boy were sitting on a porch in the 3500 block of West Chicago about 10:30 a.m. when someone walked up and opened fire, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Brooks, who lived in the 6300 block of South Morgan, was shot in the head and taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:49 a.m. Saturday, authorities said.

The other teenager suffered gunshot wounds to the thigh and calf, police said. He took himself to Norwegian American Hospital, where he was treated and released.

About 10 p.m., the person was in the 4200 block of West Congress Parkway when she was struck by a red SUV that fled north on Kildare Avenue, Chicago police said.
Just after 10 p.m., the man, 42, was driving in the 4500 block of South Pulaski Road when he was shot in the back of the head, Chicago police said.
About 1:15 a.m., a 31-year-old man was outside in the 1600 block of North Hamlin Avenue when he was approached by two men in a vehicle who began shooting, Chicago police said.
