A 50-year-old woman was shot Thursday evening in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood on the South Side.

She was standing outside at about 6:40 p.m. near West 88th and South Wood streets when a passenger in a passing green vehicle fired shots, according to Chicago Police.

She suffered gunshot wounds to the ankle and buttocks and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where her condition was stabilized, police said.
