An Edgewater man was charged with trespassing after he was identified as the person who entered two North Side elementary school playgrounds in the past month, Chicago Police announced Thursday.
Piermario Molinelli, 24, of the 5300 block of North Glenwood Avenue, was charged with two misdemeanor counts of criminal trespassing to state land, according to police.
About 1 p.m. April 19, Molinelli walked up to kids and a parent at a playground in the 4300 block of North Paulina and told them he was a movie star before a parent walked him off the playground, police said. Ravenswood Elementary is located at 4332 N. Paulina.
About 5 p.m. May 5, Molinelli was also the person who entered a playground in the 4700 block of North Wolcott Avenue and said “hi” to children, police said. When a parent confronted him, he told them he was inspecting the playground equipment. James B. McPherson Elementary is located at 4728 N. Wolcott.
Police issued a community alert May 11 about the incidents.
Police said Molinelli disregarded gates, fences and signs when he entered the playgrounds.
