A man was shot in the Ashburn neighborhood on the Southwest Side Wednesday evening.

The 23-year-old was outside a home in the 3400 block of West 83rd Place about 5:17 p.m. when a vehicle approached and he heard gunshots and felt pain, police said.

He ran into the home and called for emergency medical attention and was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, police said. He was shot in the buttocks and upper leg, but his condition wasn’t immediately known.
