A man was critically wounded in a shooting Wednesday afternoon in the South Shore neighborhood.

The 22-year-old was in the 7100 block of South Cornell at 1:18 p.m. when a male got out of a blue SUV and fired several shots, according to Chicago Police.

He was shot in the neck, right leg and multiple times in the back, police said. He was taken in critical condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

The shooter got back into the SUV and took off.
