Round Lake Beach man charged with child pornography

A northwest suburban man has been charged with possessing a large amount of child pornography.

Authorities executed a search warrant at John B. Cady’s home in the 1600 block of Elm Avenue in Round Lake Beach on Wednesday, according to the Lake County sheriff’s office.

A forensic examination of several electronic devices revealed numerous videos containing child pornography, including children under the age of 13, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office.

Cady, 54, was charged with six felony counts of possession of child pornography, according to the sheriff’s office. Due to the amount of electronic media collected, additional charges are possible.

Cady is being held at the Lake County Jail on a $100,000 bond. He is next scheduled to appear in court May 23.
