One man was killed and two others injured in a Noble Square neighborhood shooting Monday night on the Near West Side.

The 24-year-old victim was standing with two other men in the 1500 block of West Walton shortly after 11 p.m. when another male walked up and fired shots, according to Chicago Police.

Eric Nieves suffered gunshot wounds to the chest, and was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:35 p.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He lived in the 900 block of North Kedvale.

The two other men, ages 19 and 20, were also injured and drove themselves to Stroger Hospital, police said. The younger man was shot in the head and listed in serious condition, while the older man was shot in the arm and had his condition stabilized.

The man was found unresponsive in an alley in the 10700 block of South Lowe Avenue, police said.
The man suffered head trauma and was pronounced dead at University of Chicago Medical Center, police said.
