A man was shot in the leg Friday morning in the Jeffery Manor neighborhood on the Far South Side.

The 33-year-old was shot in the leg at 9:38 a.m. in the 9700 block of South Merrill, and was taken to Trinity Hospital where his condition was stabilized, according to Chicago Police.

No one was in custody, police said.

The suspect’s son witnessed the shooting of at least five relatives, according to Joliet police reports obtained through a public records request. The reports also indicate the boy’s mother was more deeply involved in the case than first thought.
