An 18-year-old man was shot and critically wounded in the Marquette Park neighborhood late Sunday on the Southwest Side.

He was outside with a group of people about 9:50 p.m. in the 7100 block of South Washtenaw when someone in a car opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

The man was shot in the abdomen and taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

“This was not an active shooter incident inside the theme park,” a Gurnee police spokesperson said.
