A 16-year-old boy was shot in the chest Tuesday evening in the McKinley Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The shooting happened about 5:30 p.m. in the 3300 block of South Hamilton, according to Chicago Police.

The boy was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
