A man was shot on a porch in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood on the South Side Wednesday evening.

The man, whose exact age was not immediately known, was shot about 6:35 p.m. in 7600 block of South Sangamon, according to preliminary information from police.

He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where his condition had stabilized, police said.
