A 16-year-old boy was shot Friday afternoon in the Washington Park neighborhood on the South Side.

The boy was shot in the leg about 1:10 p.m. in the 5700 block of South Calumet, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
