A 26-year-old woman was shot and critically wounded Saturday night in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.

About 8 p.m., she was driving in the 3900 block of West Lexington when someone opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

The woman was shot in the lower neck and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said.
