Man shot in Austin

A man was shot early Sunday in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

The 27-year-old was standing on the sidewalk in the 5000 block of West West End Avenue about 4:45 a.m. when he heard gunfire and realized he’d been shot in the right leg, according to Chicago Police.

He drove to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
