The James Beard Foundation Awards were presented Monday night in Chicago, and part of the gala evening’s festivities was the debut of “The Chef Whisperer,” a comedic short film chronicling the interactions between an all-star culinary cast and character Carl Stankowski (played by The Second City’s John Hartman) who works “silently, behind the scenes” to mentor each personality to greatness.
