Two Chicago Police officers suffered minor injuries in a crash Sunday night in the Brighton Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The officers were responding to a call about 10 p.m. when their marked squad car was struck by another vehicle in the 4700 block of South Whipple, according to preliminary information from Chicago Police.

The officers both suffered minor injuries, but additional information was not immediately available.

The squad car’s emergency lights were activated at the time of the crash and the other driver was cited for failure to yield, police said.
