A man was in critical condition early Friday after he was shot in the Chatham neighborhood on the South Side.

The 25-year-old man was found by officers lying on the sidewalk in the 8200 block of South Maryland about 12:19 a.m., police said. He was shot in the head.

The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was listed in critical condition, police said.
