Body found in Merrillville

A body was found Sunday afternoon in Merrillville, Indiana.

The body was located at 3209 W. Lincoln Hwy. in Merrillville, according to a statement from the Lake County coroner’s office.

The body is believed to be male, but it is not yet confirmed.

An autopsy was performed Monday morning, but the coroner’s office did not release the man’s cause and manner of death.

Merrillville police did not immediately respond to a call for comment.
