A 20-year-old man was shot Friday afternoon in the Chatham neighborhood on the South Side.

He was getting out of a vehicle just before 3:15 p.m. in the 7900 block of South Wabash when a green car drove by and someone inside fired shots, according to Chicago Police.

He suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was taken in serious condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.
