Thunderstorms clear stands at Copa America match at Soldier Field

Fans at the Copa America semifinal between Chile and Colombia are being advised to seek shelter with dangerous weather headed for Soldier Field.

A line of thunderstorms rolled through Chicago about two hours before the game, but cleared out in plenty of time for the teams to play the first half. But organizers asked the crowd to leave the stands at halftime, and then lightning was seen near the home of the NFL’s Chicago Bears.

Chile led 2-0. It wasn’t known when the second half would begin. The deadline to restart the game is 11 p.m.
