A man was shot to death early Monday in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

Ramal Hicks, 34, was shot in the lower back and chest about 12:45 a.m. in the 1500 block of West 69th Street, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Hicks was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 3:55 a.m., according to police and the medical examiner’s office. He lived in the 7700 block of South May.

An autopsy found he died of multiple gunshot wounds and his death was ruled a homicide.
