A third suspect has been charged in connection with the violent robbery of an Aurora convenience store in February.
Jacqueline M. McKinney, 46, of the 100 block of Rocky Way in Montgomery, is accused of being the getaway driver for two men who have already been charged with the Feb. 12 robbery of a 7-Eleven. She has been charged with robbery, according to Aurora police.
Darius Shaquille Totton, 22, of the 600 block of Serendipity Drive in Aurora, was charged with armed robbery, aggravated robbery and aggravated battery; while Dangelo Williams, 19, of the 700 block of Liberty Street in Aurora, was charged with armed robbery and aggravated battery, police said.
At 11:35 p.m., Totton and Williams, both wearing bandanas, walked into the 7-Eleven in the 2200 block of South Eola Road in Aurora, and one of them pulled a handgun and demanded money, police said.
The robbers then took the employee to a back office and continued to demand money while kicking and hitting the 45-year-old man, police said.
Totton and Williams grabbed cash and cigarettes, and as they were leaving, Williams swung at a 20-year-old Aurora man who was walking into the store at the time, police said. The customer was struck in the ear, but did not require medical attention. The clerk was treated and released from a hospital.
The pair then ran to McKinney’s vehicle and the trio sped away, police said.
On Feb. 17, police released surveillance photos from the robbery on Facebook and in the media. Later that day, detectives received two phone calls from people stating they saw the photos on Facebook and identified one of the suspects as Williams, police said. Williams was arrested on an unrelated warrant at his home on Feb. 26.
McKinney turned herself into police Wednesday afternoon, police said. She has been transferred to the Will County Correctional Center, where her bond call is pending.
Totton is being held at the Will County Adult Detention Facility on a $750,000 bond. Williams has been held on a $255,000 bond, according to the Will County sheriff’s office.
