A man was shot and critically wounded Sunday afternoon in the South Lawndale neighborhood on the Southwest Side.
The 39-year-old was standing next to a vehicle about 12:50 p.m. in the 3500 block of West 24th Street when a minivan drove up and someone inside opened fire, police said.
The man was shot in the head and taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.
