Man fatally shot in Northlake

A 21-year-old west suburban man died late Saturday after being shot near his Northlake home.

Alecxis Martinez was pronounced dead at 11:09 p.m. at Gottlieb Memorial Hospital in Melrose Park, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He was shot in the flank on the block where he lived in the 400 block of South 44th Avenue in Northlake, authorities said. An autopsy ruled his death a homicide.

Northlake police could not immediately be reached for comment.
