Jay Cutler brought the Bears back from the dead with a game-winning field-goal drive in the final two minutes of Sunday’s win over Oakland, and after the game, tight end Martellus Bennett compared Cutler to Jesus.

According to Chicago Sun-Times reporter Patrick Finley, Bennett said, just like Jesus, Cutler is an “excellent guy who did some awesome stuff.”

Cutler has been highly scrutinized during his seven seasons in Chicago, having been labeled as both turnover and injury-prone.

But he was the savior Sunday as he drove the Bears 48 yards in just over two minutes to set up Robbie Gould’s game-winning, 49-yard field goal.

Bennett also compared Cutler to fictional character Shane Falco, from the movie “The Replacements,” which, you know, is probably a more suitable comparison than Jesus.
