A man was shot and critically injured in the North Lawndale neighborhood Friday afternoon.

The 35-year-old was shot in the neck about 5:20 p.m. in the 1500 block of South Trumbull, police News Affairs Officer Bari Lemmon said, citing preliminary information.

He was taken to a Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, Lemmon said. Details on the circumstances of the shooting weren’t immediately available.
