Man shot in Chicago Lawn drive-by attack

A man was injured in a drive-by shooting Friday afternoon in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

About 3:30 p.m., the 19-year-old walked into Holy Cross Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg, police News Affairs Officer Bari Lemmon said.

He told investigators he had been standing in an alley in the 6800 block of South Campbell when someone fired shots from a dark gray vehicle, Lemmon said.

The man, who police said has documented gang ties, was listed in good condition.
