Clutch Cube Clip: Breaking through walls the Hobart way

You don’t have to be from a big high school to make a big high school football play. Pontiac managed to edge out Eureka in last week’s game 33-23, but one play may have pushed the momentum to Pontiac’s favor. As the Indians were looking up against the Hornets in the 3rd quarter 20-23, Pontiac’s Vaughn Hobart made an absolutely insane run to the endzone, dragging several players with him. Vaughn somehow managed to squeeze past the defenders to fly to the goal line. This play was crucial to the Indian’s success and gave them the lead late in the game.

Hobart is not quite known for his running dexterity but rather for the complete opposite, sacking players. Hobart has so far racked up a total of 47 tackles in his high school career with 24 solo sacks. Now that is impressive. As great of a linebacker as Hobart has become, his true calling may be as one of Pontiac’s running backs, utilizing his brute force to breakdown the defensive walls.

Pontiac will hope to see Hobart bring the same plays to the table when they clash against Olympia High School on Oct. 9.

Check out Vaughn Hobart’s highlight as he bulldozes through defenders to get into the end zone:
