McHenry man accused of having child pornography

A northwest suburban man is accused of having thousands of images and movies of child pornography on his computers.

Todd W. Britton, 32, is charged with four counts of possession of child pornography and one count of reproduction of child pornography, all felonies, according to the McHenry County sheriff’s office.

He was arrested after a months-long investigation that identified his computer as having thousands of images and movies of child pornography, sheriff’s police said.

Authorities claim he also reproduced some of the materials he downloaded.

Britton was arrested Tuesday morning at his McHenry home, police said. He is being held on a $75,000 bond and will next appear in court Feb. 13.

Sheriff’s office and the Illinois Attorney General’s Forensic Division handled the investigation.
