A body was found in a dumpster that had been set on fire Saturday night in the Brighton Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side, fire officials said.

About 10:30 p.m., firefighters responded to a fire in a dumpster in the alley of the 4200 block of South Kedzie, authorities said.

When the blaze was extinguished, firefighters found the body of a male in the dumpster, Fire Media Affairs Director Larry Langford said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office could not immediately confirm the fatality.

The Chicago Fire Department Office of Fire Investigation Division and Area Central detectives are investigating.
