A 19-year-old man was shot in the back of the head Sunday morning in the Gage Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

About 5:20 a.m., he was sitting in a vehicle parked in the 5200 block of South Talman when a gunman walked up from behind the car and fired into it, police News Affairs Officer Janel Sedevic said.

A friend drove the man to Holy Cross Hospital, and he later was transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital in fair condition, Sedevic said.
