Two men injured in Cicero shooting

Two men were shot in west suburban Cicero on Sunday night.

About 9 p.m., the men were outside in the 5300 block of 25th Place when a man in a hooded sweatshirt walked up and asked for cigarettes, according to Cicero town spokesman Ray Hanania.

When they refused to give him cigarettes, he pulled out a handgun and opened fire, Hanania said.

One was shot in the finger and the other in the elbow, officials said. The men, whose exact ages weren’t available, were taken to MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn with injuries that weren’t thought to be life-threatening.

Anyone with information should call Cicero police at (708) 652-2130.
