The harvests are up more than 15 percent this spring from last spring for the youth seasons for hunting spring turkey in Illinois.

Illinois Department of Natural Resources communication director Chris Young emailed:
Illinois Youth Turkey Hunters harvested 901 wild turkeys this spring compared with 787 in 2014. Youth season dates were March 28-29 in the South Zone, and April 4-5 in the North Zone. Overall, 57 counties recorded increased harvest. Thirty counties were down and 13 remained the same. Attached is an Excel spreadsheet with Youth Turkey Season results from both zones.
