Monday night, Derrick Rose missed another game due to injury. This time it was general soreness keeping the former league MVP out of the Bulls’ loss to the Hornets. It was the seventh game Rose has missed already this season, putting him on pace for an ugly statistic.

Rose is sitting out roughly once every seven Bulls games. If that holds true, Rose will miss a total of 11 games this year and an astounding 245 games throughout his career. Which means Rose will have missed one game short of three full regular seasons.

Of course, most of those games came during the 2012-13 season when he missed the entire year and the following season when Rose played only 10 games.

Rose games missed by season:

2008-09: 1

2009-10: 4

2010-11: 1

2011-12: 43

2012-13: 82

2013-14: 72

2014-15: 31

2015-16: 7 (11)

It’s tough to blame Rose for all of the missed games. While many have been critical of his inability to follow a rehab schedule, the initial injuries have, for the most part, been severe.

The overall number doesn’t include any postseason games Rose has missed. Rose has missed 22 postseason games due to injury, five after getting injured in Game 1 in 2012 and a combined 17 the next two years.
