Don’t worry Cubs fans, John Baker isn’t going to beat up Jake Arrieta

The excitement surrounding the Cubs right now is the highest it’s been in decades. For now, it seems the only thing that can derail the season is an injury to one of the Cubs’ stars.

Jake Arrieta would absolutely qualify as one of those stars. So the idea of him getting on the mat for some martial arts is a little terrifying. Last week, a couple of tweets not only made it seem like Arrieta could be doing a little jiujitsu, but it would be a former Cubs player and current team employee doing the damage.

The exchange caught the eye of at least one concerned Cubs fan who really didn’t want John Baker working over Arrieta’s pitching arm.

Fortunately, the ex-Cubs catcher has no plans of putting the defending Cy Young winner in any risk.

Cubs fans can breathe a little easier knowing that the Cubs baseball operations assistant doesn’t want to beat up Arrieta. Although, it may not be a bad thing having someone experienced with jiujitsu around for when the Cubs play the Cardinals this year.
