Two residents of northwest suburban Volo were arrested Saturday after a gun went off and a bullet struck their neighbor’s home.
Joshua A. Polk and Caroline J. Tatum were arrested at their home in the 200 block of Niagra Drive after a neighbor called 911 about 11 p.m., according to the Lake County sheriff’s office.
The 911 caller said he saw a person with a handgun and heard a gunshot come from the home’s garage, sheriff’s police said.
Responding deputies found a discharged round lodged in the door of a home in the 600 block of Richard Brown Boulevard, police said. Its path of travel was consistent with having been fired from the garage the caller mentioned.

Polk is being held at the Lake County Jail on a $150,000 bond, while Tatum was released on her own recognizance, police said.
