A southwest suburban man is facing child pornography charges after the Will County’s High Technology Crimes Unit seized his computers and cellphones and discovered illegal images, according to prosecutors.

Kiyoshi Murakami, 41, of the 5400 block of Salma Street in Joliet, was arrested at his home on Thursday after an investigation that started with the high-tech unit and ended with a search warrant being executed by Joliet police, a statement from the Will County state’s attorney’s office said.

Investigators “identified a computer used to download child pornography with an Internet Protocol address that led them to Murakami’s home,” the statement said. Two laptops and two cellphones were confiscated during the search.

Murakami was charged with two felony counts of child pornography and was ordered held on a $250,000 bond, prosecutors said. His next court hearing is March 27 in Joliet.
