A man was shot Thursday night in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

The 21-year-old man was standing on the sidewalk in the 1000 block of North Lavergne Avenue at 9:30 p.m. when two men got out of a dark colored car and fired shots, police said.

He suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and abdomen, and was taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.
