Bank robbed in South Loop

A bank was robbed in the South Loop on Friday evening.

The robbery happened about 6 p.m. at a bank in the 1200 block of South Wabash, police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala said. A First American Bank branch is located at 1241 S. Wabash.

A black male with a goatee handed a note to a teller demanding money, and he made off with an unspecified amount of cash, Zala said.

The robber didn’t show a gun or imply he had one, and no one was hurt, police said.

The FBI is handling the investigation.
