Teen shot in Englewood

A 16-year-old boy was shot Wednesday evening in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

He was standing behind a vacant house about 6:30 p.m. in the 5500 block of South Emerald Avenue when a male in a black hoodie came through the gangway and shot the teen in the left foot, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to St. Bernard Hospital in good condition, police said.

A police source said the victim is a documented gang member.
