Police are cautioning West Side residents after a pair of robberies on the West Side in the last week.
Two teenage boys wearing hooded sweatshirts and riding bicycles approached victims and in one case showed a knife before taking their purses, according to a community alert from Harrison District Chicago Police.
The first robbery happened about 8:05 p.m. on New Year’s Day in the 4300 block of West Thomas, followed by another on Saturday about 8:45 p.m. in the 3900 block of West Congress, the alert said.
Police did not have a detailed description of the two suspected robbers but said they were between 14 and 18 years old.
