SHARE Three armed robberies investigated in Woodlawn neighborhood

Police are warning about three different armed robberies this month in the Woodlawn neighborhood on the South Side.

In each case, multiple suspects approach victims, pull out one or more handguns and take their property, according to a community alert from Area Central detectives. The robberies happened:

  • 1 a.m. July 1 in the 6400 block of South King Drive,
  • 1:50 a.m. July 4 in the 6300 block of South Vernon, and
  • 11 p.m. July 10 in the 6400 block of South King Drive.

The suspects are described as men between 18 and 25 years old, ranging from 5-foot-5 and 6-foot-1 and 120 and 200 pounds, police said.
