Trains on the Metra Electric District Line are back to normal after a train derailed downtown Wednesday morning.
The derailed cars initially blocked two of three tracks that run through the area, forcing all trains to operate on a single track until the derailment was cleared, officials said.
As of 9 a.m., no delays were reported on the line, according to Metra’s website.
Overnight delays had ranged up to an hour as crews cleared the scene at the 11th Street station, Metra spokesman Tom Miller said.
Two cars from Train No. 150 slipped off the tracks about 1 .m. but remained upright, Miller said.
The transit agency still urged riders to listen to platform announcements and check its website for delays throughout the morning.
