Former White Sox closer gets the World Series loss in Game 4

It was a familiar name for White Sox fans watching the final game of the 2015 World Series. With the game tied at 2, the Mets put Addison Reed on the mound in the 12th inning with hopes of holding the game. He would instead allow five runs and get the loss.

Reed was the White Sox closer for parts of two seasons before being traded to Arizona. Now with the Mets, Reed is no longer a closer. Instead he had been typically pitching in a set-up role.

Sunday night, Reed gave up three hits and was credited with five runs. The biggest hit coming after Reed had loaded the bases and been pulled for Bartolo Colon. Lorenzo Cain doubled off of Colon clearing the bases.

With the White Sox, Reed had been one of the better closers in the league. However, he seemed to regularly struggle with the Royals. Reed allowed more runs against the Royals than any other team.

Reed is arbitration eligible after this season.
