Two Dekalb County residents were charged with stealing jewelry from a home while a party was going on over the weekend in northwest suburban Elgin.

Officers were called to a reported burglary in the 1200 block of Blackhawk Drive, according to police.

The victim said that when they returned home, they found that a party had been held at the residence, and several pieces of jewelry had been stolen.

The suspects were identified as Corina Mendenhall, 39; and Juan Juarez, 27, both of the 1000 block of Locust Street in DeKalb. They were taken into custody and the stolen jewelry was found during a search of Juarez, according to police.

Each was charged with one count of burglary, police said. Court information was not immediately available.
