Don’t worry Bears fans, Matt Forte had good reason to miss the first part of practice on Thursday and it had nothing to do with an injury. The Pro Bowl running back and his wife welcomed their second child, Matthew Christian Forte.
Forte’s wife Danielle gave birth to their first son Thursday morning. The couple also have a daughter, Nala, who was born in 2013.

NBC Chicago’s Peggy Kusinski reported Forte missed warmups and individual drills during Thursday’s practice for the birth of his seven pound 20 inch baby.
Forte is the second Bears star over the last month to bring home a new baby. Jay Cutler and wife Kristin Cavallari welcomed their first daughter, Saylor James Cutler, in November.
The two fathers, neither of which needed to miss any game time for the birth, will team up against San Francisco this Sunday.
