The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are 2-0 heading into Saturday’s contest against the explosive Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Through two games this season, the Yellow Jackets have set an ACC record for points scored with 134.

It will be up to Notre Dame’s defense to slow GT’s attack to a pace the Irish can manage. Although the team’s defense looked sensational in the opener against Texas, it was less than spectacular in the team’s second win as Virginia managed 27 points. The Cavaliers also gashed the ND secondary on a number of plays.

Head coach Brian Kelly told ABC 57 that preparing for GT’s triple-option will be a daunting task that will require the focus of the entire team.

We know what’s in store for us. We are excited for the challenge, said Brian Kelly. Prolific scoring, and just in the past year amazing numbers offensively. There has to be some discipline. There gotta be, clearly some athleticism as well. But by and large they have to be able to pick up the schemes we are trying to put together, said Kelly. We got lost in the misdirection and didn’t pay attention (against Virginia) to what our specific responsibilities were. Eye violations, in particular, have to be cleaned up. We really didn’t do our job on the back end.

In the early goings of the 2015 season, Georgia Tech is averaging 562 total yards per game. It also averages a ridiculous 457.5 rushing yards per contest.
